Academics & Curriculum

Learning with Purpose and Depth

At Share Virtue, academics are not confined to textbooks or classrooms. Guided by Montessori principles, our curriculum is interdisciplinary, experience-based, and deeply connected to real life. We believe adolescents thrive when learning is meaningful, relevant, and rooted in community.

Integrated Curriculum

Our academic program blends core subjects with hands-on projects and practical experiences. Students explore:

Mathematics through real-world applications like budgeting, farm planning, and data analysis.

Science through environmental studies, biology, and ecological farm work.

Humanities through literature, history, philosophy, and personal narratives.

Language Arts through writing, research, and effective communication.

Social Studies & Economics through community projects, business planning, and cultural studies.

Each area of study is interconnected, encouraging students to think critically and holistically.

Project-Based Learning

Students take ownership of their learning through projects based on the needs of the community and personal interests. These projects may include:

Running a small business or farm enterprise.

Conducting scientific research.

Organizing community events or advocacy campaigns.

Writing and publishing creative or academic work.

Projects develop independence, time management, and real-world problem-solving skills.

Work & Study Balance

Our curriculum balances academic rigor with purposeful work—a hallmark of the Montessori adolescent approach. Whether tending the land, building a structure, or leading a team, students learn through doing and reflecting.

Guidance, Not Grading.

Instead of traditional grades, we offer personalized feedback, student self-assessment, and mentoring. This encourages intrinsic motivation and supports each learner's individual path.

Education at Share Virtue is not just about what students know—it's about who they become.

Our Activities on the Farm

Preparing for Life through Study, Work, and Community

The adolescent years are a time of transformation—physically, emotionally, and intellectually. At our Montessori adolescent program, we support this growth through an integrated, land-based model inspired by Maria Montessori’s vision for Erdkinder, or “children of the earth.”
