Montessori Education for Confident Adolescents
Living, learning, and connecting with adolescents on the farm helped us truly understand their unique needs—and made us fall in love with this work. Our journey began at a pivotal moment, supported by the faith and trust of our community.
When local families expressed concerns about the lack of safe, nurturing environments for adolescents, we responded by creating a small, intentional space where young people could feel secure, valued, and inspired.
Our story became the vision, "Share Virtue" Learning Private Limited.
Rooted in Montessori principles, Share Virtue is a learning center dedicated to adolescents aged 12–18.

Our mission is to empower them to grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially through meaningful experiences and compassionate guidance.

Dr. Gayathri serves as the dedicated medical consultant at Share Virtue Learning, bringing over 18 years of clinical experience to support the health and well-being of our Erdkinder community.
She holds an MBBS and F.Diab, with a strong background in general medicine and chronic care. Her role extends beyond medical oversight—she contributes to health protocols, ensures safety during farm activities, and guides on nutrition, hygiene, and adolescent health.

Medical Consultant | 18 Years Clinical Experience
As a Montessori parent, I have witnessed my child's independence and self-motivation thrive, but adolescence brought challenges. At 13, my daughter began questioning responsibilities and boundaries, leading to conflicts. After completing the AMI 12-18 orientation course, I gained a new perspective on giving adolescents space to explore and learn independently.
She then joined an adolescent community and from her experience, I have seen firsthand how a residential community setting can be transformative. Some highlights of her experience include:
- Preparing meals for large groups
- Selling farm produce and handmade goods at local markets
- Early morning bird watching and nature walks
- Establishing herbal garden
- Community movie nights
In this Montessori residential farm community, she thrived living with peers and house parents, engaging in hands-on activities and taking ownership of her choices. I believe this environment empowered her to become a capable, confident, and compassionate individual.
Adolescents should not be treated as children anymore, as they dislike being perceived as such. Society and home environments predominantly treat them like children and it is essential to protect them from this. The work they perform at the farm enables them to realize they are not children anymore. A farm environment understands this and provides adolescents with the opportunity to recognize their value as contributors to their community, which is what we refer to as social independence.
The work at the farm should be meaningful and purposeful, accompanied by a joy of learning. Montessori emphasizes the importance of life in the open air and a non-toxic diet during adolescence. Providing high-quality, fresh, organic food is vital for their physical growth during this stage. When adolescents have these experiences, they gain insight into potential future roles and responsibilities as adults.
